As my partner-in-(school)crime continues to write, blog, and write some more, I feel that twinge of jealousy.  I was hoping that this place would be our FAMILY archives to creative awesomeness, but it seems I might be the only one who loves to put pen to paper, fingers to keyboard, or blotchy pen to cocktail napkin...whatever is handy.  Maybe Sarah would give it a go.  She is my daughter (The MizRizSchyck's daughter for those of you that follow me on Twitter or Facebook), and she has a writer's voice that rivals mine.  I say rival because we have yet to have the ultimate throw down.  I think it may be on the horizon though.

     Are you up for it Sarah?  Huh?  Are you, punk?  Thrown down the challenge my dear, and let's get this party started.

     In any case, I may just take over this particular blog as a way to reduce the stress of, well - me.  Not only am I a legend in my own mind, but that legend often has to take a back seat to playing Mama, Teacher, sometimes wife but more often NAG, and general friend to is either a grand help or one Pear Cider away from being good for anything besides joining you for a wild rumpus.

     With that, let the wild rumpus begin.  Sarah - if you are out there, scanning the skies for your signal, here it is.  Commissioner Gordon has lit up the night.  Come and join the battle.  Throw down the gauntlet and pick you battle.  The challenge is on.

The Mobs
Endermen- They teleport random places.
Skeletons- They shoot arrows at you.
Creepers- They explode.

Mikey plays Minecraft as if the end of the universe is upon us and the only way we can be saved is for him to PLAY THIS GAME!  He has decided that the best way to write will be to tell you about his town that he created.

Lighting 
No mob spawn %100. (Note from Mom:  Mobs are the bad guys apparently - like skeletons and creepers.  *shudder*  When there is lighting, they don't spawn.)
To make torches you have to craft them.  First, you need a crafting table. Next, get wood. Then craft wooden planks. Use wooden planks to craft sticks. Gathr coal. Now comes the easy part.  Put sticks on the bottom right. Then put coal on top.  Finally, collect your torches.  Make sure you hold the shift key to collect all of them.  Mikey

So....here we go!  It is June 1, 2012, and we will see what our young minds create!  Since it is Friday, and 3/4 of the Carnesville Schyck family watched Snow White and the Huntsman, I thought I would post our five favorite fairytales.

So - trying to get the boys involved in fairy tales, we decided to write a Minecraft fairytale.

     Once upon a time, a Minecraftian went to the forest to find some wolves.  He was trying to kill some wolves so that he could get wolfskin.  He had to make a tarp for his bathroom.
     As he entered the forest, he found a cave.  In that cave, he saw many monsters.  First, he spied skeletons.  He didn't defeat them at all!  He just stood there with his mouth wide open!  The skeleton was about to fire his arrow when the Minecraftian pulled out an enchanted diamond sword.
     He sliced the skeletons into halves with great force.  As he explored the cave some more, he came across some baby creepers.  He crept up to them...but suddenly, they BLEW UP!  In their place was a Hero Bryne!  The END.

A Grand Adventure

As our kids (and adults!) in the Alvarez and Schyck families grow, we needed a place to not only keep in touch, but have the kids grow as writers.  That being said my loves, get ready for a summer of lake living, beach exploration, imagination, and WRITING!  :)
